Photo and story by Puyallup Tribal News staff On Thursday, April 22, Connie McCloud (słupayqʷuʔ - Cedar Moon Woman) led a blanket ceremony to welcome each individual resident at the ʔaýgʷasilali, the Place of Transformation, the Tribe’s tiny homes village. She opened the ceremony in prayer, followed by the Blessing of the Floor song by David Duenas Sr., performed by members of the Culture and Language departments. The ribbon-cutting featured prayers, songs, dances and speeches. By Puyallup Tribal News Staff The Puyallup Tribe of Indians held a blessing ceremony on Feb. 1 at the site of the future tiny home village. The site is located at 2027 East Wright St., Tacoma, within proximity to one of the tribe’s ancestral village sites. “This is an ancestral site; our people have lived here for thousands and thousands of years,” said Connie McCloud, Culture Director.
