Dear Tribal community, Administration has learned of two positive cases among employees today. With the rises in cases and possible exposures, Tribal Council has approved closure of the following buildings for the rest of this week as a precaution: • Main Administration Building • Youth Center • Culture Building Administration will re-evaluate conditions on Friday (watch for updates online). Employees are expected to telework if they are able. After several weeks of promising COVID-19 trends, this week there were several exposures reported at the Sound Credit Union Building and Public Safety, and a positive case at Elders. Our safety protocols are being followed in each case, with cleanings, contact tracing and testing taking place as needed. COVID-19 update: Tribal Admin will remain in Phase 2

Thursday’s announcement by Gov. Jay Inslee about the upcoming statewide shift to Phase 3 next week and the planned June 30 reopening for Washington state is exciting. However, there are still a lot of unknowns. While Administration and Council consider guidance from other governments, we need to do what is right for our community. Administration will meet with Dr. Alan Shelton, the Tribe’s medical director, next week to discuss masks in the workplace and whether our reopening plan should change.
