No-Campaign Zone Approved for 2020 Tribal Council General Election on Saturday

Candidates will be able to campaign in an area near the gate and entryway at Chief Leschi Schools during Saturday’s Tribal Council General Election. A large portion of the school property, including where voters will line up to go into the gym and cast their ballots, was designated as a “No Campaign Zone” by the Tribal Council. (See map).

Pease note traffic should enter to the left and exit the same way. The back gravel road will be closed. Security will help direct people.

Election day details

When: Saturday, Aug. 1

Polls open: 10 a.m.

Polls close: 4 p.m.

Absentee ballots: Must be received by 8 a.m. on Aug. 1 in the Election Board mailbox, 1625 E. 72nd St. Ste 700 — PMB 149, Tacoma, WA 98404. 

Location: Chief Leschi Schools Four Seasons Building (big gym), 5625 52nd St. E, Puyallup

Protocol: The 2020 General Election will be a walk-up process with social distancing measures in place. Voters will line up outside the entrance to the Four Seasons Building (big gym) and will only be permitted into the building on a limited basis.

All voters are asked have some form of identification readily available and prepared to wear a mask/face covering at all times.

Restrooms inside the building will not be open for voter use, however portable restrooms will be located outside.

Election Board members will pull Elders to the front of the line, as has been previous practice in past elections.
