First Fish Ceremony Scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23

Puyallup Tribal members are invited to participate in the Tribe’s First Fish Ceremony, beginning at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 23, at the Canoe Landing, 4224 Marine View Dr., Tacoma.

To ensure COVID-19 social distancing safety measures, people are asked to witness the ceremony from inside their cars. There will be microphones and sound system for speakers.

Dinner will be prepackaged and served “to go style” before you leave.

The event will also be live-streamed on the Tribe’s Facebook page.

The Culture Department is providing handkerchiefs, which can be used as masks, as the giveaway item for all participants.
