Tribal Council recognizes Military Appreciation Month

As a mark of respect to Tribal members and employees who are veterans or actively serving in the military, the Puyallup Tribal Council has passed a resolution recognizing May 2019 as Military Appreciation Month. The resolution notes Memorial Day and Armed Forces Day. First Fish Ceremony takes place May 18

The Puyallup Tribe presents the First Fish Ceremony at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 18. It will take place at the Canoe Landing, 4224 Marine View Drive, Tacoma WA 98422. A dinner will follow at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome to participate and should feel comfortable arriving with their regalia, drums and rattles. The event is family-oriented, and it is important to include all age groups to carry on traditions. Attendees are asked to be respectful and come with good hearts.

Firework license sales (for Puyallup Tribal members only) will take place in the Administration Building on the following dates: May 24: 8 a.m. to noonMay 28 to 31: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. A lottery drawing on June 1 will determine licensees' spots in Firecracker Alley. Medicine Creek Analytics becomes only lab in state certified to test cannabis for heavy metals

With certification, Washington reinstates heavy metal testing requirement Tacoma, Wash. – Washington state’s Liquor and Cannabis Board on April 11 certified Medicine Creek Analytics, owned by the Puyallup Tribe of Indians, to test for heavy metals in cannabis products.That makes Medicine Creek Analytics the only lab in Washington certified to perform such testing, after the previous lab ended its cannabis testing program.
