Employee Tests Positive for COVID-19; Buildings Already Closed as Precaution

Dear Tribal Community,

An employee who worked in the Incubator Building and Administration Building last week tested positive for COVID-19. Areas the employee visited will be deep cleaned. Another employee with potential exposure from the first employee is getting tested.

Last week, Tribal Administration proactively closed all Tribal government buildings through Dec. 14 to help slow the spread. Access by employees is limited, although services to the Membership are continuing. Employees are expected to telework, and paid administrative leave is provided to those unable to telework, with supervisory approval.

The Tribe has taken numerous measures to ensure the safety of our employees during the coronavirus outbreak, including encouraging teleworking for positions that allow, implementing social distancing, installing Plexiglas barriers, remodeling building entries, and conducting regular cleaning and disinfection of buildings.

You can learn more about steps you can take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our website:

You can also find a list of mobile testing clinics on Pierce County Emergency Management’s website: https://www.piercecountywa.gov/6758/Covid-19-Mobile-Testing.

Stay well. Stay safe.
