COVID Update: Two Employees Test Positive for Virus; Tribal Buildings Remain Closed

Dear Tribal Community,

Two Tribal government employees reported that they tested positive for COVID-19 today.  One of the employees has been in the former Sound Credit Union this week, which will undergo a deep cleaning this weekend.

Reminder: Tribal Administration proactively closed all Tribal government buildings through Jan. 19 to help slow the spread. Access by employees is limited, although services to the Membership are continuing. Employees are expected to telework, and paid administrative leave is provided to those unable to telework, with supervisory approval.

The Tribe has taken numerous measures to ensure the safety of our employees during the coronavirus outbreak, including encouraging teleworking for positions that allow, implementing social distancing, installing Plexiglas barriers, remodeling building entries, and conducting regular cleaning and disinfection of buildings.

You can learn more about steps you can take to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 on our website:

You can also find a list of mobile testing clinics on Pierce County Emergency Management’s website: https://www.piercecountywa.gov/6758/Covid-19-Mobile-Testing.

Stay well. Stay safe.
