Culture Department to Host Cedar Harvesting June 22 and June 29

The Puyallup Culture Department is offering cedar harvesting on June 22 and June 29.

Participants are asked to donate half of their harvest to the Culture Department for traditional medicines for Elders, Tribal Members and Community Members.

Bring a hatchet, mallet (optional) or wood chisel. The mallet will help the hatchet wedge into cedar bark. COVID-19 precautions, including masks and social distancing, will be in place.

Participants will meet at 9 a.m. at the Puyallup Culture Center, 3509 72nd St E, Tacoma. Transportation will not be provided.
