Tribal Council met with Nick Brown, U.S. attorney for the Western District of Washington, on Feb. 24 and later blanketed him. President Biden appointed Brown to the office on Oct. 8, 2021. His experience includes service in the U.S. Army as an attorney and serving as counsel to Gov. Jay Inslee. In an article in The Seattle Times shortly after his appointment, Brown noted America’s high incarceration rates compared with other countries and pointed to impacts on people of color and the underserved.
